When you look around, you will notice that their are some persons or group of them who are walking with a bunch of scraps carried with them along. They visit each villages to search for something they can sell in the junk shops in exchange for a money they used to support their needs everyday life. The money they get from the junks they gathered in the whole day is not enough to buy their wants. They just use the money amounting 100 pesos or less into their foods to survive. Each family has a member of almost 6 to 10 which only proves that their income in selling scraps is really not enough. The children on each family pushes to work for the additional income instead of sending them to school. These families can be seen mostly located on the squatters areas, full of poor citizens who's has high hopes of having a better and convenient life someday. Their houses mostly built only with lighter materials and not as big as a normal family house. Their family and the willingness to survive this poverty is their source of strength to continue living onward.
On today's population in the Philippines, almost millions of its citizens belongs to lower class because of poverty. The competition in life continues to increase. Each day, many are still starving and eats only once or twice a day if lucky. It also increases the rate of crimes in the streets wherein their primary reasons is insufficient sources of money that drives them to commit evil deeds. If there is only a better livelihood programs for them, they may become responsible citizens of the society and different positive results may occur. This problems is found in some of the provinces scattered in almost every region of the country. A large number of them is located in Metro Manila and the others are divided in each regions. Lack of jobs generated by the government is the root of all this problem.
Filipinos are strong and not easy to give up. Even how tough life can be, there is still hope for everybody. They believe that everything that happens is just only temporary.
